Mode of Action: Non-Systemic insecticide.

• Profenophos is a non-systemic insecticide with contact and stomach action and has strong contact, stomach and ovicidal action on lepidopterous eggs.
• Cypermethrin is a non-systemic insecticide with strong contact action, rapid knock-down effect and excellent residual activity and also has repellent effect on flying moths
• It is an organophosphate and synthetic insecticide, it works by potent inhibition of the enzyme acetyl cholinesterase, after feeding on a treated plant or crawling over a treated leaf, the pest is first paralyzed and then quickly dies.
• Profenophos is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme acetyl cholinesterase, which is essential for the transmission of impulses between nerve cells.
• While Cypermethrin is a Sodium channel modulator, it inhibits the sodium ion entry into the nerve cells which leads to the hyper excitation of the nerves.
• This nerve overstimulation followed by convulsions and paralysis leads to death of the target insect.
